What are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that replaces the root portion of a missing natural tooth. Dental implants can be placed in either the upper or lower jaws. Due to the biocompatible properties of titanium, a dental implant fuses with the bone and becomes an anchor for the replacement tooth. Dental implants can be used in solutions for replacing single or multiple missing teeth.
Reasons to Consider Dental Implants
When both the tooth and root are damaged, the best permanent replacement is a dental implant in conjunction with a ceramic crown. This solution both looks and functions just like a natural tooth.
Natural
Dental implants look and feel like your natural teeth! Because the implant is placed in your jawbone, it allows your teeth to function like normal. Without that support, simple tasks like eating or speaking become more challenging. Dentures don’t offer that root structure as dental implants so that they won’t feel as natural.
Permanent
Since implants are fused in your jawbone, they make a permanent solution for your missing teeth. As long as you’re taking good care of them, they should last a lifetime.
Effective
Without the root structure of a natural tooth, the jawbone can shrink and make your face look older. When your jawbone begins to deteriorate, it makes your face appear more sunken. Dental implants prevent that from happening by acting as the root structure and stimulating bone growth.
Requires Minimal Maintenance
Unlike dentures, you don’t have to worry about taking your implants out to soak or clean. Caring for them requires the same amount of effort as it would take for you to care for your teeth. Regularly brushing, flossing, and visiting the dentist will increase the lifespan of your implants and reduce your chances of developing periodontal problems.
Improved Confidence
Have you ever worried about your dentures accidentally slipping out of your mouth mid-sentence? With dental implants, that’s a thing of the past! They’re fixed and durable, giving you the confidence to flash your smile, knowing your teeth aren’t going anywhere.
Types of Dental Implants

Different dental implant methods are available based on how many teeth you’re missing and the strength of your jawbone. These options include the following:
- FREE Consult ($150 Value)
- FREE 3D CT Scan
- 0% 12 Month Financing Available
Implant Bridges
Dental bridges are prosthetic appliances that resemble the appearance and function of natural teeth and are used to replace one or multiple missing teeth in a row. Dental implant bridges use the remaining healthy teeth or dental crowns adjacent to the gap of a missing tooth as anchors to sustain the pontic, which is the false tooth that will “bridge” the gap in your smile.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant dentures are an ideal restoration for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth. Rather than wearing removable dentures, these snap-on denture devices are permanently attached to the bone with implants for a durable solution to missing teeth.
Full Arch Dental Implants
Similar to implant-supported dentures, this restoration replaces a full arch of missing teeth. Using dental implants to support the prosthetic device makes for a permanent solution to lost teeth.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
A full mouth reconstruction is the process of restoring the function and appearance of damaged, misaligned, or otherwise substantially anomalous teeth. This is an extensive process involving several procedures, including dental implants to restore missing teeth.
Teeth-in-a-Day with All-on-4®*
All-on-4 implants are an innovative procedure that is revolutionizing dental restorations. This treatment involves using four implants to anchor a full set of prosthetic teeth to restore a complete row of missing teeth. Combining this treatment with rapid milling machines, we can restore your smile with implants in one day.

Why 5th Avenue Dental?
Are Dental Implants Right for You?
Dental implants are an ideal restorative solution for many dental health concerns. You might be the perfect candidate for dental implants if you fall under the following categories:

Missing Teeth
If you’re missing teeth, you’re the perfect candidate for dental implants! After all, they’re the most effective way to restore what’s been lost.
You Don’t Smoke Tobacco

Heavy smokers are at a higher risk of their implants failing, which is why dental professionals recommend you stop smoking if you want to get them. Healthy oral tissues will help the implants last longer.
You Have Adequate Bone Structure

Patients will need to have enough healthy jawbone for the dental implant to be placed. Most people get bone grafting surgery to have a more successful implant procedure.

You’re Unable to Wear Dentures
For some people, wearing dentures isn’t a practical solution. They can irritate those with sensitive gums, and they won’t fit the same after a few years. This happens because your jawbone keeps shrinking. If these are concerns for you, dental implants are a better option.

You Do Not Have Bruxism
Even though implants are incredibly durable, they aren’t indestructible. If you grind your teeth at night, the extra pressure can cause your tooth implants to crack and shorten their lifespan. Those with bruxism may want to find a way to correct the condition before getting dental implants.
